Subaru Crosstrek in High Number of Crashes Despite Safety Ratings

Posted by James Cummings | Aug 29, 2019 | 0 Comments

The Subaru Crosstrek sees the most at-fault accidents in Connecticut and the rest of the U.S. Accidents affect some 25.81% of these models. These are just some of the findings of a survey conducted by Insurify, an auto insurance comparison site. Insurify has compiled a list of 10 vehicles, seven from Japan, two from Korea and one from the U.S., that are involved in the most crashes.

While the Crosstrek tops the list, its 2019 model received the highest safety rating possible for crashworthiness and crash avoidance from the Insurance Institute of Highway Safety. This may explain why many of these Crosstrek accidents ended with the occupants of the Crosstrek walking away without serious harm. The Crosstrek is also fuel-efficient and not so costly.

The Honda HR-V was a close second with accidents affecting 25.7% of these vehicles. The Hyundai Elantra GT, Infiniti Q50 and Subaru WRX followed. The WRX, it should be known, has been associated with more speeding offenses than any other vehicle. Numbers six to eight were the Mazda3, Acura ILX and Lexus CT.

The sole U.S. vehicle, the Chevrolet Trax, came in ninth, and the list ended with Hyundai's Santa Fe Sport. Accidents impacted 13.64% of all models on the road today.

A trucking crash can form the basis for a personal injury claim. This is particularly true when the injuries and vehicle damage are severe. Those who are deemed 50% or less at fault for a crash may pursue a claim as long as they do so within the two-year statute of limitations. Besides time constraints, victims may also want to be aware of the benefits of legal representation. Lawyers, for example, can usually take on negotiations.
